Frequently Asked Questions
The most common questions prior to your visit:
What is the difference between OSHQ physical therapy v. traditional in-network physical therapy?
At OrthoSport, our approach differs significantly from traditional in-network physical therapy models. As a cash-based practice, our focus is on expediting your pain relief and facilitating a robust recovery, unrestricted by conventional limitations such as specific treatment types, visit durations, or predetermined visit counts per injury. During your entire visit, you'll be attended to by your OSHQ healthcare provider. We provide an array of advanced treatments like dry needling, active release therapy (ART), and blood flow restriction at no additional cost. Our scheduling is exceptionally flexible, offering appointments as early as 6 am and as late as 7 pm, with Saturday morning hours available. Moreover, we can address multiple health concerns simultaneously, a flexibility not feasible in the in-network model. Choose OrthoSport for personalized care that prioritizes your swift and comprehensive recovery.
Do we take insurance?
At OrthoSport HQ, we accept out-of-network insurance, ensuring flexibility and personalized care tailored to your needs. While we exclusively work with Medicare in-network, billing out-of-network allows us to bypass specific rules and regulations regarding treatment time frames. This unique approach empowers us to deliver the most effective and efficient treatments, ensuring you recover faster. Experience the benefits of our patient-centric approach to wellness.
We always like the check our patients' insurance plan to guarantee the best price possible.
How much is my co-pay?
Your co-pay is determined by your out-of-network insurance policy and deductible. Alternatively, if you opt for our cash rate, the session fee will be paid in full. In comparison to in-network rates, our fees are generally 1/3 to 1/5 of the price, offering you cost-effective options for high-quality physical therapy.
Do I need a referral from a doctor or PCP?
Ohio allows direct access to physical therapy without a referral. Direct access means that individuals can see a physical therapist without a physician's referral.
Can I pay with my HSA account?
Absolutely! We highly recommend leveraging your HSA plans if you have one.
If am seeing a Chiropractor, do I still need to see a Physical Therapist?
Chiropractors play a valuable role in addressing spine and hip-related issues. At OrthoSport, we collaborate seamlessly with chiropractors, engaging in ongoing discussions about the patient's plan of care (POC) with our partnering healthcare professionals. While our physical therapy approach incorporates manual therapy when necessary, it is primarily rooted in strength and conditioning. Our goal is to design a personalized exercise regimen that empowers you to reclaim the athleticism you aspire to achieve.
